For the visiting angler there are three rivers and a hill loch which can be fished. These are managed by a local sporting syndicate and permits to fish the loch and rivers can be obtained from several sources including the Filling Station in Uig, the Uig Hotel and the Ferry Inn.
The hill loch, Loch Mor, is fly fishing only and the brown trout, averaging 1lb in weight, can readily be taken on traditional fly patterns.
The Rivers Hinnisdale and Conon are both typical west coast spate rivers and hold stocks of brown trout, Salmon and Sea Trout. It should be noted that fishing on the River Hinnisdale is permitted on the north bank only as the south bank is privately run. The River Rha holds brown trout and a few sea trout.
